Franklin County (Ohio) Courthouse construction progress.

On my way back to the office from my construction scouting I was able to snap a photo from the car of the new Franklin County Courthouse. It is scheduled for completion in 2010 and should be the first LEED certified courthouse in the State of Ohio. Speculative construction project at New Albany's Water's Edge

Daimler's construction project at 7775 Walton Parkway Pkwy in New Albany, Ohio is ready for occupancy. According to Loopnet, the building is 106,500 SF, of which 86,599 SF are available.

460 Polaris Parkway construction moving along

Another stop along my construction scouting project. Progress is moving along at the building located at 460 Polaris Parkway. The building is a speculative construction project located at Westar in the North submarket. Construction is expected to be completed during the third quarter. As of the publication of the first quarter office market report, the building had no tenants lined up.



Workers lift sign in place at new Grange headquarters

I was out scouting Central Ohio construction projects yesterday and noticed workers hoisting the new Grange sign in place. The expanded headquarters on S. High Street in downtown Columbus looks to be completed and ready for occupancy.

Ohio logs gain in clean energy jobs

Jobs in Ohio’s clean energy economy grew 7.3 percent while overall jobs declined 2.2 percent in the state between 1998 and 2007, according to new research by the Pew Charitable Trusts.

ACDelco To Close Groveport Facility

Another local casualty of the General Motors bankruptcy is auto parts supplier ACDelco and its 501,853-square-foot warehouse at 6000 Green Pointe Drive S in Groveport, OH, which is listed for lease. Cabot Properties Inc. owns the ACDelco Parts Distribution Center in Groveport Commerce Center an it will be available for a new tenant by year's end.

Cord Camera insolvent, exec says

Cord Camera has been put into a voluntary receivership after its owner said the company can no longer afford to pay its debts. It is hoped that the chain can be sold and remain in business, an attorney for the receiver said. The 55-year-old Columbus-based chain said in a court filing last week that it is insolvent and requested court protection while it seeks the "orderly winding up of the affairs of the company."
